We also offer the VTCT Skills Level 3 Award in Education and Training through our Bideford training centre.
This is a blended learning option, combining online theory with a face-to-face microteach assessment in Bideford, North Devon.
The VTCT Skills pathway may be suitable if:

Is the Level 3 Award in Education and Training Recognised?
Yes.
The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an Ofqual-regulated qualification.
This means you're completing a regulated qualification rather than an attendance-only or privately accredited course.
Is the Course Completely Online?
Yes.
The Focus Awards pathway can be completed fully online.
Your theory learning is completed through our online learning portal and your microteach assessment is carried out via live video link.
You can also join our optional monthly online tutor support sessions.
When Can I Start?
You don't need to wait for the next tutor support date.
Once enrolled, you can begin your online learning and work through the qualification at your own pace.
The dates shown near the top of this page are our optional live tutor support sessions, rather than course start dates.
Do I Need Previous Teaching Experience?
No.
The Level 3 AET is designed as an introduction to teaching and training, so you don't need to be working as a teacher already.
How Long Do I Have to Complete the Course?
You have up to 12 months to complete your qualification.
You can study at your own pace around your existing work and commitments.
Do I Have to Attend the Monthly Tutor Sessions?
No.
They're optional support sessions.
You can attend whenever you'd like additional help, feedback or guidance.
How Is My Microteach Completed?
Your Focus Awards microteach is completed live via video link.
We'll arrange your assessment on a suitable date, subject to tutor availability, and provide guidance beforehand to help you prepare.
Do I Have to Complete Teaching Practice?
You will need to carry out and document evidence of a minimum of 1 hour of teaching as part of your qualification.
Your tutor will explain the requirements and the evidence you need to provide.
Do I Need to Provide Anything Myself?
You will need access to a suitable device and reliable internet connection for your online learning and live sessions.
You will also need to provide any teaching resources required for your own teaching activities and microteach.
Can I Teach Accredited Courses After Completing This Qualification?
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training gives you a recognised teaching qualification.
However, requirements for delivering a particular accredited or regulated course will depend on the awarding organisation, accreditation body or training provider.
You may also need appropriate subject-specific qualifications and occupational experience and, depending on the role, further qualifications such as Assessor or IQA.
Can I Create My Own Training Courses After Qualifying?
The qualification gives you a strong foundation in planning and delivering learning.
If you want to develop your own training provision, you'll also need to consider your subject expertise, insurance, course content, assessment arrangements and any requirements of the organisation through which you want your courses approved or accredited.
What Is the Difference Between Focus Awards and VTCT Skills?
The Focus Awards pathway is fully online, including your microteach via live video link.
The VTCT Skills pathway is blended, combining online learning with a face-to-face microteach assessment through our Bideford training centre.
