The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is an introductory teaching qualification for people who want to teach or train adults.
Ideal for professionals in beauty, massage, complementary therapies, sports, fitness, wellbeing and other vocational industries, it introduces the foundations of planning, delivering and assessing inclusive learning.
No previous teaching experience is required. You’ll study online with tutor guidance, personalised feedback and support preparing for your live online microteach.

How Your Online Course Works
Study around your work, business and family commitments, with guidance throughout.

1. Start with Your Personal Induction
Meet your tutor via an individual live video call. We’ll introduce your learning portal, explain your assessments and help you plan your studies.

2. Flexible Online Learning
Work through your learning materials and assignments at your own pace, with up to 12 months to complete. There are no compulsory weekly classes.

3. Optional Live Tutor Support
Join our monthly live online sessions to ask questions, discuss assignments and prepare for your microteach. Attendance is optional.

4. Complete Your Assignments
Complete your written assignments to demonstrate your understanding of teaching, learning and assessment, with tutor feedback and guidance throughout.

5. Complete Your Microteach
Plan and deliver a short teaching session assessed live via video link. We’ll help you prepare and arrange a suitable assessment date, subject to tutor availability.

Can I teach accredited courses or create my own courses afterwards?
AET provides a foundation in teaching. Delivering particular courses also depends on your subject qualifications, experience and the requirements of the relevant provider or accreditation body. Developing your own provision involves additional arrangements, including insurance and course approval where applicable

Do I Need to Provide Anything Myself?
You will need access to a suitable device and reliable internet connection for your online learning and live sessions.
You will also need to provide any teaching resources required for your own teaching activities and microteach.

Can I Teach Accredited Courses After Completing This Qualification?
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training gives you a recognised teaching qualification.
However, requirements for delivering a particular accredited or regulated course will depend on the awarding organisation, accreditation body or training provider.
You may also need appropriate subject-specific qualifications and occupational experience and, depending on the role, further qualifications such as Assessor or IQA.

We recommend you hold student insurance while studying this course to cover you while practicing &/or when carrying out case studies (where applicable).

    If you do not have therapist insurance - You can take out student insurance while practicing, and top this up to therapist insurance when qualified.
