Q: Do I need a teaching qualification before I join this programme?

A: No – this programme is designed to guide you through the how-to of becoming an educator and setting up your own training academy. If you also want to gain a formal qualification (such as the VTCT Level 3 Award in Education & Training), which you WILL need to teach, you can bundle that with this programme, but it’s not required to get started.

Q: Is this the same as the Level 3 Award in Education & Training?
A: No – the Level 3 AET is a teaching qualification. The Salon to Educator Programme is a business-building roadmap that shows you how to create your courses, get them accredited, set up your academy, and market to fill your classes. Many students do both together for maximum impact.

Q: Will this work if I don’t already have my own salon?
A: Yes! You don’t need a salon to become an educator. Many trainers run courses from home studios, rented venues, or online. We’ll show you different options for setting up your training space (even on a small scale) and expanding as you grow.

Q: How long will it take me to finish the programme?
A: The programme is drip fed weekly, so you can work through the modules at a speed that suits you. Most students complete it in 12 weeks alongside their other commitments, but you’ll have ongoing access to revisit any time.

Q: What if I don’t know how to get my courses accredited?
A: That’s exactly what we cover. We’ll walk you through different options (from CPD accreditation to becoming a VTCT centre), and you’ll get step-by-step checklists so you know exactly what to do.

Q: Will this show me how to market my courses and find students?
A: Yes! A whole section is dedicated to marketing your courses, filling classes, and building a reputation as a trusted educator. You’ll learn how to attract your first students and how to keep them coming back.

Q: What support will I get?

Q: How soon can I start teaching after completing the programme?

Pre-requisite / Entry level:
None, however, you will need a min of Level 3 Education & Training qualification in order to teach
Course format:
12 weekly modules dropped on a weekly basis.
However, you can study at your own pace, once the module drops each week, making it ideal for busy professionals 
Attendance:
3 x  Q&A sessions via video call (Optional)
Accreditation:
IPHM
You will receive a certificate of completion once all 12 modules are complete, accredited by IPHM

- As you complete the training, you can set up your training academy. Opportunities include delivering workshops, CPD-accredited courses, and formal qualifications within the beauty, massage, and fitness sectors.
Additional costs:
None to complete this training; however, you will need to cost out your insurance, accreditation fees, and set-up costs when you are ready to open your academy

We recommend you hold student insurance while studying this course to cover you while practicing &/or when carrying out case studies (where applicable).
  • If you already have therapist insurance - You should be able to add this therapy onto your current insurance
    If you do not have therapist insurance - You can take out student insurance while practicing, and top this up to therapist insurance when qualified.
